How We Solve Delivery Issues for Our Clients

In the confectionery industry, delivery time is not just a deadline, but a commitment to our partners. Especially with B2B orders, clients typically plan and place orders well in advance, and the entire supply chain revolves around “on-time availability.”

Disruptions to the delivery date not only affect sales but also damage the client’s reputation and confidence.

Today, we’ll share a real-world case: A distributor from Canada ordered a container of “Mango Peel Candy” from us.

Halfway through the order process, an unexpected risk arose—but we still managed to deliver on time, ensuring the client received their order on schedule.

1. Order Initiation: The Client’s “Timeline” Was Very Clear

This Canadian distributor wanted to get their Mango Peel Candy available on major retail channels before a promotional event. Their procurement plan was very clear: place the order in advance → estimate arrival → unified shelf placement and promotion.

After confirming the order, both parties clarified the production and delivery arrangements:

We committed to completing production, inspection, packaging, and shipping by a specific date, ensuring the client received their goods on schedule.

2. Sudden Risk: Packaging Material Shortage
As production neared completion, we discovered a shortage of the special packaging film used for peeled candy. Our original supplier had to adjust their production schedule and was unable to deliver on time. Continuing to wait for the packaging materials as planned would result in:

  • The finished candy could not be packaged in time
  • Goods could not be shipped on time
  • Customers would not receive their orders on time, affecting shelf placement and promotion.

3. Our Response: Swift Action
We immediately took three steps:

(1) Communicating with Customers Immediately and Transparently Explaining the Situation
We immediately explained the packaging material shortage to our customers and clearly stated our position: “We will do our best to ensure delivery on time and will not let you delay shelf placement because of our problem.”

(2) Activating Alternative Solutions: Searching for Packaging Materials Through Multiple Channels
We immediately contacted other compliant suppliers to find packaging films of the same specifications; assessed the quality, printing effect, and sealability of alternative materials; and organized a team to quickly test the suitability of the alternative materials. Within a short time, we found alternative packaging materials and confirmed that they met quality and appearance standards. (3) Working Overtime to Ensure Production Remains Unaffected

To avoid impacting delivery dates, we adjusted our production schedule: Finished products were temporarily stored in a hygienic warehouse; packaging line shifts were rearranged; and the quality control team simultaneously accelerated sampling to ensure every batch of products passed inspection. Throughout the process, team members maintained efficient collaboration, ensuring each step progressed within the timeframe.

4. Results: On-Time Delivery, Successful Customer Shelf Launch

Ultimately, we completed packaging, quality inspection, shipping, and delivery on schedule. The customer received the goods within the agreed timeframe and successfully completed shelf launch and promotion. For us, this order was not only a successful delivery but also a validation of our team’s capabilities.

At MPS Sweets, we manage delivery times not by luck, but through a systematic process and accountability system: Advance production planning to avoid delays caused by last-minute changes; establishing a multi-supplier system to reduce the risk of relying on a single supplier;

a transparent communication mechanism to keep customers informed of progress; a rapid emergency response mechanism to immediately activate alternative solutions when problems arise; and a strict quality and traceability system to ensure product consistency.

No matter what unexpected situations arise, we resolve them as quickly as possible to ensure customers receive their goods on time and successfully complete shelf placement and sales.
